Kathleen R. Tusaie is a registered nurse. Past lead faculty of the Psychiatric NP Program at the University of Akron, she is also a co-owner of a private group practice. Dr. Tusaie is a PMH nurse practitioners. She holds certificates in advanced pharmacology, multicultural nursing, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, psychoneuroimumunology, and cognitive behavioral therapy. She taught at the University of Pittsburgh and the Penn State University School of Nursing. Her clinical experience began in 1975 as a staff nurse and has included community mental health, administration, and advanced practice nursing. She has focused on the concept of resilience.
