Description
This is a description.
Changes in mood and perspective are requested by clients. Changing mood and perspective can be accomplished by educating clients about their patterns. Experiential methods are more effective immediately.
All art is considered to be experiential. Changing mood and perspective is the point of drama, painting, literature, dance, or music. Movies use different methods. The viewer is often unaware of how filmmakers exert influence.
The way in which people are influenced outside of awareness is studied by social psychology. Effective methods from other disciplines can be used to advance couples therapy. Clinical practice can be improved by concepts from film and social psychology.
The educational objectives are listed.
- To list three filmmaker methods that can be used in psychotherapy.
- Given a therapy goal, describe a method to make it more effective by appealing to the client’s visual system.
Session may be edited to preserve confidentiality.
