Betsy was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a journalism degree and a meteorology minor. Mississippi State University was where she finished her meteorology degree. Betsy lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Jacksonville, Florida before returning to her hometown in 2003 She was Cleveland’s first female Chief Meteorologist.
