Alan Oliver has been trading markets since 1989.

In 1989 I was allocated shares in the bank at a staff bonus rate. I was interested in share trading. I was skeptical about trading. I have no experience in markets other than the 1987 crash and its effect on my bank customers. As my shares recovered and began to rise, I thought trading was easy. I bought a lot of things after the crash. I was making money.

My luck ran out quickly. My inexperience and lack of knowledge eroded my profits.

If I wanted to be successful at trading, I had to learn more about it. The markets took all of my profits and I wanted them back. I drew charts while studying book after book. I made a list of all the things I did wrong. If I didn’t repeat any of my previous mistakes, I had a chance of success. Slowly, the profits began to return. Many years later and with a lot of practical experience under the belt, trading has become a way of life and completely addictive.

Some friends of mine used to ask for ideas on trading. I wrote a few pages for them. A review of one of my favourite tools was given in this summary. Within no time at all the few pages had begun to circulate like wildfire, it was probably the easiest to grasp for beginners. The book Trading with the Gods was written because I thought it could be better explained. It quickly became a big seller in my country. People said that it was easy to understand and that anyone could follow it. I’ve been asked for more information on other tools. The material used in market trading is extraordinary. I think that Gann is a controversial subject due to bad interpretations of his coding.

The work of W.D.Gann has become the core of my trading. We must be prepared to do the research and work diligently. It is a case of traders reaping what they sow. The amount of effort that is put into learning the craft is equal to the amount of trading results. Disaster is almost certain to arrive if you try to make big bets too early. Markets are for trading and casinos are for gambling.

I created this website to help other traders understand these powerful tools. The videos are of the best quality. I wish I had the backup and support when I first started. It is a pleasure to pass on my knowledge to others. The material is easy to learn thanks to the huge amount of referrals.

I agree that trading is hard. No one is born into trading. I have never met a trader who has not struggled with the fine tuning of their system. Some of the big names in the business are included. Discipline, concentration and determination are required for trading. I’ve never met anyone who couldn’t be a brilliant trader if they worked for it. Anyone can become a great market trader if they know that it isn’t an overnight achievement.
